Dental Fees and Rebates
Payment Options
Our team helps maximise the coverage and benefits available to you through your dental coverage plan. One of the ways we do this is by explaining the coverage that is offered to you.
We believe that you deserve a choice when it comes to the treatment you receive, not just the one that is covered by a particular plan. We’ll present you with options and clear-cut fees so that you can make an educated decision about the future of your smile.
As well as HICAPS for immediate fund rebate claims, we accept a range of payment options including Mastercard, Visa, American Express, cash, cheque, money order and direct deposit.
We understand that an unexpected toothache or a sudden chip or break in the tooth may come at the worst times and just don’t fit into the financial budget for the week or month. At Dental Care Professionals we never want our clients to stay in pain or discomfort while trying to work a dental appointment into their budget.
This is why we want to make dentistry as affordable as possible and provide the highest level and quality of dental care.
However, we recognise that sometimes, some assistance is required which is why we offer interest free payment plans to all our patients if required.
Dental Care Professionals has partnered up with Zip Money for interest free repayments for dental treatment with no minimums if required.
If you have any questions, please contact either our Adelaide clinic or our Brighton clinic and our friendly staff will be happy to help.

Although Medicare does not cover dental treatment for the majority of patients, there is a current scheme available to eligible patients to receive dental care.
If you qualify for the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS), you can use it at Dental Care Professionals.
At Dental Care Professionals we want all children to have fair and equal access to great dental care by providing regular maintenance and treatments for your children.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides financial support for basic dental services for children aged 2–17.
We are able to bulk bill for most patients and treatments under this scheme. Please ask us if you are eligible for bulk billing.
People who may be eligible include:
- Children aged between 2 –17 years on any one day of the calendar year
- Receive, or their family, guardian or carer receives, certain government benefits such as Family Tax Benefit Part A for at least part of the calendar year
- Are eligible for Medicare
For more information regarding the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, visit the Department of Human Services website.
Eligibility
From January 2014, eligible families, teenagers and approved care organisations will receive a letter to confirm eligibility.
A child’s eligibility is assessed at the beginning of each year and lasts the whole calendar year. A child is eligible if they are aged 2–17 years for at least 1 day of the calendar year, are eligible for Medicare and are either part of a family receiving Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A) or one of the following Australian Government payments:

The Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule aims to provide $1,000 over a 2 year period for children aged 2 through to 17 years, to cover basic essential dental services. The basic services include:
- Check-ups (to make sure your child’s teeth are developing well)
- X-rays (to check for cavities and adult tooth development)
- Cleaning (to remove plaque)
- Fissure seals (to protect molars from cavities)
- Fillings (to protect a tooth after decay is removed)
- Root canals (to preserve a tooth when the root has died)
- Extractions (to remove problem teeth)
Please note – You cannot claim a benefit under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule and from a private health insurer for the same dental service.
You can find out about your eligibility and more about CDBS from the Department of Human Services website.
It’s our privilege to provide services to Department of Veterans’ Affairs cardholders. Gold cardholders may be entitled to have dental care provided by Dental Care Professionals subsidised by the Department.
Please note you must bring your DVA card to every dental appointment you attend for invoicing purposes.
For further information on whether you are eligible please contact the Department of Veterans’ Affairs on 133 254 or visit the DVA Website.
Dental Care Professionals is recognised by all major health funds. This means you’ll able to claim a rebate for the dental treatment you receive from us.
Please note, your health fund benefit is calculated according to the level of Dental Extras Cover you have with your health insurer, and is not set by DCP.
On-the-spot electronic claiming of health fund benefits through HICAPS is available at all Dental Care Professionals clinics.
This means you can claim your health fund benefit you may be eligible for at the time of treatment.
The health fund benefit amount will be deducted from the overall treatment charge so you only pay the difference. You no longer have to go to your health fund to claim your refund.
Please ensure that you bring your current health fund membership card to every dental appointment.
